Cedarville is on a three-game streak of home losses, Fairbanks a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Cedarville Indians will take on the Fairbanks Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Cedarville and Fairbanks are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
Last Wednesday, Cedarville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-40 to West Jefferson.
Meanwhile, Fairbanks was able to grind out a solid victory over Madison Plains on Saturday, taking the game 38-26.
Fairbanks' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Poling led the charge by scoring nine points along with two steals. Hannah Boehm was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Cedarville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Fairbanks, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11.
Things could have been worse for Cedarville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-34 loss to Fairbanks when the teams last played back in December of 2022.
