The Tyler Legacy Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Wylie East Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tyler Legacy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Wylie East is ranked 80th).
Last Friday, Tyler Legacy was beaten by Rockwall 52-21. Tyler Legacy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-0.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Von Lane, who threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes. Another player making a difference was Kavion Hall, who gained 108 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Wylie East put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 49-8 win over Rowlett at home. The win was familiar territory for Wylie East who now have six in a row.
Wylie East can attribute much of their success to Howard Fisher iv, who threw for 135 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes, and Keveyon Thorne, who gained 113 total yards and three touchdowns. Kason Atkins was in the mix too, providing Wylie East with two touchdowns.
Rockwall's win bumped their season record to 9-1 while Tyler Legacy's defeat dropped theirs to 3-7.
