The Southeast Halifax Trojans will stay at home for another game and welcome the North Edgecombe Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Southeast Halifax, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-48 loss to the Chargers.
Southeast Halifax's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kemorriya Evans, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, and Janiyla Pierce who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Evans has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Jackson, who scored four points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, North Edgecombe's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Washington County by a score of 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Southeast Halifax has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for North Edgecombe, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Southeast Halifax was taken down by the Warriors 75-24 when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of North Edgecombe's ShyNiya Ricks, who scored 26 points along with eight steals and five assists. Now that Southeast Halifax knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
