The Eastside Eagles put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 50-45 win over Woodmont. Given Eastside's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Woodmont is ranked 103rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eastside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Miracle Cheeks out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Kristen Mcbride was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Eastside's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Woodmont, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-7 record last season and are now at 3-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastside will take on Blue Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Woodmont, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Greenwood's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so Woodmont's offense will have their work cut out for Woodmont.
