Frederick Douglass strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 22-2 margin over the Crossland Cavaliers. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Merrell Lloyd made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with seven stolen bases and three runs.

In other batting news, Frederick Douglass got a massive performance out of Marshall Barnes, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Barnes has posted since back in April of 2025. Mason Walker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Frederick Douglass always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Frederick Douglass' win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Crossland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
