Two dominant signal callers in Luke Moga and Noah Trigueros are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sunnyslope Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Notre Dame Prep Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunnyslope will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Even though Skyline scored an imposing 38 points on Friday, Sunnyslope still came out on top. Sunnyslope snuck past Skyline with a 42-38 victory.
It was another big night for Moga, who rushed for 46 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 103 yards and three touchdowns. Moga is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Aleck Vargas and his 152 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Sunnyslope's victory.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame Prep came up short against Desert Mountain on Friday and fell 28-21. Notre Dame Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Notre Dame Prep saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Trigueros, who threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Cooper Perry was another key contributor, picking up 62 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Sunnyslope's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Notre Dame Prep, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-6.
Sunnyslope took a serious blow against Notre Dame Prep in their previous meeting back in September, falling 49-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Notre Dame Prep's Trigueros, who threw for 364 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
