Palmdale is 10-0 against the Antelopes since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Palmdale Falcons will be playing at home against the Antelope Valley Antelopes at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Palmdale and seven for the Antelopes.
Palmdale pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The matchup between them and Lancaster wasn't particularly close, with Palmdale falling 82-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (61), Palmdale still had to take the loss.
Palmdale's loss came about despite a quality game from Jamari Owens, who scored 34 points. That was a full 50% of Palmdale's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Carlos Munoz, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Antelope Valley was beaten by the Hawks 78-34 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Antelope Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1103rd, while the Hawks are ranked 232nd).
Palmdale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-23 record this season. As for Antelope Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-20.
Palmdale skirted past the Antelopes 71-69 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Palmdale repeat their success, or do the Antelopes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
