Shawnee hasn't had much luck against Parkway recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Indians will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shawnee's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Bellefontaine as they made off with a 10-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.
Shawnee let Kacie Carroll and Lyla Rosas run wild. Carroll went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Rosas went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs Rosas has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Taylor Lichty, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Shawnee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Parkway faced off against Van Wert on Monday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Bryn Schoenleben made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Schoenleben was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brittyn Bruns, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Madelyn Stover was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Parkway's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Shawnee, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Parkway's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Shawnee has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game.
