Silverton (Ore.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 5 in Oregon, but was stunned by
West Albany (Albany, Ore.), 13-0. West Albany was ranked at No. 10 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Oregon coming into the week.
The lead that the Bulldogs took on a touchdown run by
Jake LaCoste with 6:00 remaining in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
When the two teams played each other last season, West Albany came away with a 35-21 victory.
The loss comes after Silverton defeated Corvallis 56-13 last week. The win brought West Albany's winning streak to three games.
West Albany (4-1) goes up against South Albany in a 5A Mid-Willamette game matchup next week, while Silverton (4-1) locks horns with Lebanon also in a 5A Mid-Willamette game.
