Basketball Recap: First Flight Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

First Flight had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 59-41 win over the Manteo Redskins. Given the Nighthawks' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Redskins are ranked 331st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Judah Carlyle had another great game (as he tends to do), putting up 21 points. Another player making a difference was Brody Woods, who posted ten points.

First Flight's record is now 6-3. As for Manteo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, First Flight won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Trinity Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Nighthawks will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matchups. Manteo will wrap up 2025 with a road trip to face off against Ashley at 3:00 p.m. on the 27th.
