After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Schoolcraft, the Gull Lake Blue Devils were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They snuck past Concord with a 54-48 victory.
Despite the loss, Concord still got an impressive performance from Mekhi Wingfield, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Wingfield's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Medellin, who scored ten points.
The victory got Gull Lake back to even at 5-5. As for Concord, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gull Lake will take on Three Rivers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Three Rivers has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Concord, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Lumen Christi Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th.
