The Blackstone-Millville Chargers lost against the Douglas Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Blackstone-Millville took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Douglas. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Blackstone-Millville in their matchups with Douglas: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Blackstone-Millville had strong showings from Jackson Dunton, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, and Karson Cournoyer, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cournoyer has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Douglas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adam Dunphy, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Josh Farrell, who scored 16 points.
Blackstone-Millville's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Douglas, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Blackstone-Millville will look to defend their home court on Friday against Whitinsville Christian at 6:30 p.m. Douglas will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Nipmuc Regional at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. One thing working in Nipmuc Regional's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games.
