They walked away with a 70-59 victory over King William. Given Carver College and Career Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while King William is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carver College and Career Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Hill, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine steals. Hill hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Tyson Marsh, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Carver College and Career Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1. As for King William, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Thomas Jefferson the next time they take the court. King William will head out to face Thomas Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Carver College and Career Academy will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
