The Taft Greyhounds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Odem. Taft has struggled against Odem recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Greyhounds players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trae Garcia, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Villalobos, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Taft's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-12. As for Odem, they pushed their record up to 12-15 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing George West the next time they take the court. Odem will host George West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Taft will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
