Gilbert Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaila Aston, who scored 14 points along with 4 blocks, and Lillie Duitsman who scored 5 points along with 4 steals.
Paradise Honors can attribute much of their success to Morgan Van Dyke, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Leal, who scored 9 points.
Gilbert Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Paradise Honors, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Gilbert Christian will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is ranked 67th, while Gilbert Christian is ranked 54th). As for Paradise Honors, they will head out on the road to face off against Queen Creek at 3:20 p.m. on Friday.
