There's no place like home for McDowell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let the General McLane Lancers get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in April.

Not much got past Evan Stranko, who gave up just four hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep General McLane off the board.

At the plate, McDowell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Orlando, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

McDowell's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for General McLane, they moved to 13-3 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Coming up, McDowell will challenge St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for General McLane, they will face off against Fairview at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight.
