The Azle Hornets''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They breezed by South Hills on the road to the tune of 57-20. Given Azle's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 430th, while South Hills is ranked 1005th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Azle can attribute much of their success to Hagen Hughes, who rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Christian Mendoza also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.
Azle's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for South Hills, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Azle will look to defend their home field on November 3rd against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. As for South Hills, they will head out on the road to face off against Saginaw at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Saginaw is on a four-game streak of home losses, South Hills a nine-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
