Justin Kirby made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trent Jones, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Charles Anderson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Beddingfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Princeton never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Spring Creek as Princeton made off with a 19-0 win. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Like Beddingfield, Princeton also got a great game from a two-way player: Evan Pate. Throwing, Pate tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Caygen Gurley pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pate has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Pate went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Gurley scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That home run was Pate's first of the season.
In other batting news, Princeton let Cade Gurley and Aston Massey run wild. Gurley scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Massey scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Allnutt, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Beddingfield's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Princeton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
