The Oak Park Eagles will challenge the Riverside Prep Silver Knights at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Oak Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Oak Park is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Valley Christian as they made off with a 10-4 victory. Ten seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Elle Samuels spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Riley Scupine was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Scupine, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Oak Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Riverside Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Quartz Hill 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Silver Knights have posted since March 7th.
Riverside Prep also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Lila Morris gave up only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Daisy Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Breeanna Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Riverside Prep pushed their record up to 24-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Oak Park, their record is now 17-10.
Both Oak Park and Riverside Prep just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Riverside Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
