Meanwhile, Stuyvesant's five-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They strolled past Norman Thomas with points to spare, taking the game 66-48.
Irving's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Stuyvesant, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Irving against Stuyvesant when the teams last played back in January of 2020 as the team secured a 79-45 win. Will Irving repeat their success, or does Stuyvesant have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
