Jefferson is 10-0 against Elysian Fields since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The pair will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Jefferson is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Elysian Fields in Texas (Jefferson is ranked 340th, while Elysian Fields is ranked 789th).
Jefferson unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Tatum 56-50.
Even though Elysian Fields has not done well against West Rusk recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Elysian Fields secured a 42-37 W over West Rusk.
Elysian Fields' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brody Parker, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Travis Stephens, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Jefferson's defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-5. As for Elysian Fields, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
Jefferson was able to grind out a solid win over Elysian Fields in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 47-40. Will Jefferson repeat their success, or does Elysian Fields have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
