The Midlothian Panthers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 49-28 margin over Lake Belton. The result was nothing new for Midlothian, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Michael Garber had a dynamite game for Midlothian, rushing for 218 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Garber was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Bryant Wesco was in the mix too, providing Midlothian with two touchdowns.
Several Broncos players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Micah Hudson, who picked up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Hudson is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Elijah Mascarenas was another key contributor, throwing for 173 yards and two touchdowns.
Midlothian's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28 points. As for Lake Belton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Coincidentally, Midlothian and Lake Belton will both be playing Ellison the next time they take the field. Midlothian will host Ellison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Lake Belton will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
