Volleyball Recap: Kalley Cutchen Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Combs

ALA - Gilbert North won the last time they faced Combs and things went their way on Monday too. The Eagles put the hurt on the Coyotes with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

ALA - Gilbert North never let Combs on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 25-13.

ALA - Gilbert North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kalley Cutchen led the charge by getting 17 digs and two aces. Cutchen is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played. Jane Taylor was another key player, getting nine digs and three assists.

They weren't the only good servers: ALA - Gilbert North was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive contests.

ALA - Gilbert North's record is now 17-14. As for Combs, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-20.
