Tamaqua entered their tilt with Mahanoy Area on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Golden Bears. The result was nothing new for the Blue Raiders, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Tamaqua got a great performance from Peyton Faust as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Faust has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nico Conahan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Addison Krall was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Tamaqua always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Tamaqua pushed their record up to 12-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Mahanoy Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tamaqua will square off against Panther Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mahanoy Area, they will take on Nativity BVM at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
