East Jordan is a perfect 7-0 against Bellaire since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Bellaire took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on East Jordan, who comes in off a win.
East Jordan is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Central Lake with a sharp 27-0 win on Friday. Considering the Red Devils have won five games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Korbyn Russell and Elijah Burns made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Russell tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Burns pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Russell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base, while Burns got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, East Jordan let William Webb and Jacob Haley run wild. Webb got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Haley got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Those four stolen bases gave Webb a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Wilson, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.
East Jordan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Bellaire entered their contest against St. Mary Cathedral on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eagles fell 3-0 to the Snowbirds. The match marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.
Colin Bearup spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bellaire saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Balko, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Balko's first of the season.
East Jordan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Bellaire, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. East Jordan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479. However, it's not like Bellaire struggles in that department as they've averaged .442. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went East Jordan's way against Bellaire in their previous matchup back in June of 2024, as East Jordan made off with an 8-1 win. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
