It was all tied up at halftime, but Woodlawn wasn't quite The Noble Academy's equal in the second half when they met on Sunday. Woodlawn ended up on the wrong side of a painful 14-44 walloping at The Noble Academy hands. The state rankings had actually given Woodlawn a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Senior Nathan Perez, who rushed for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. In fact, with 12 tackles Lyons was a force on both sides of the ball. Senior Nick Navarez was in the mix, too, providing The Noble Academy with with 2 touchdowns. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Woodlawn off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving The Noble Academy a 1-0 record.
Next week, Woodlawn take on North Grand at 4:00 PM. As for The Noble Academy, they will face off against Pritzker.
