Athens/Greenview moved up to 270 from 300 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sangamo. The Warriors were able to move up by besting PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central 21-0.
Williamsville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Auburn, 21-14. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Josh Lindsey was a passing and rushing force as Williamsville topped the Trojans. He completed 8 passes for 79 yards and also ran for 218 yards. Lindsey's favorite target this week was Cole Courson, who caught 5 passes for 55 yards.
Lindsey was a force in the backfield as Aaron Kunz's team bested Auburn.
Courson was the best receiver in the league this week as the Bullets topped the Trojans. Courson racked up 5 receptions for 55 yards. Daniel Daykin helped Williamsville's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 18 yards.
Leading Sangamo in both passing and receiving yards, New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly's Jake Hunt and Chase Creviston have proven to be a lethal combination. Hunt has thrown for 1,747 yards this season, while Creviston, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 52 catches for 677 yards. Williamsville's Lindsey leads the league in rushing yards with 1,076.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Auburn takes on North Mac. At the moment, the Trojans are in second, while the Panthers are in fifth.
