The Lewiston Tigers will be playing at home against the Pawnee City Indians on Tuesday. Lewiston is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Lewiston struggled with offensive rebounds on Thursday (Lourdes Central Catholic had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lewiston took a 56-37 bruising from Lourdes Central Catholic.
The losing side was boosted by Everett Bohling, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Rule, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Pawnee City strolled past Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 54-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pawnee City.
Jett Farwell and Anthony Kling were among the main playmakers for Pawnee City as the former scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and four steals and the latter scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kling has scored all season. Drew Menninga was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Lewiston's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Pawnee City, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Lewiston have been dynamite from deep this season, having only drained 35.6% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Pawnee City struggles in that department as they've made 38.5% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Lewiston suffered a grim 72-52 defeat to Pawnee City in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lewiston was down 44-23.
