Basketball Recap: Varnum Wins Going Away Against Lone Grove

Varnum won against Perry last Friday with 67 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Varnum Whippets were the clear victor by a 67-41 margin over the Lone Grove Longhorns. The Whippets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 24 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Varnum and bumps their season record up to 17-1. As for Lone Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Varnum will venture away from home to challenge Sasakwa at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sasakwa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 matchups -- so hopefully Varnum likes a good challenge. Lone Grove has already played their next game (against Plainview), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
