The Hauser Jets lost against the Morristown Yellow Jackets back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Hauser took a 48-33 bruising from Morristown. Hauser has struggled against Morristown recently, as their match on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Hauser's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Manley, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Norah Berkenstock was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Leading Morristown to victory were Emma Nelson and DDanika Rutledge. Nelson scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Rutledge dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Keithley, who scored six points along with four steals.
Hauser has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Morristown, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hauser will face off against North Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Decatur presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hauser in Indiana (North Decatur is ranked 113th, while Hauser is ranked 350th). Morristown's road trip will continue as they head out to face Knightstown at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd.
