After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chugiak, West Anchorage was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They never let the Bartlett Golden Bears get on the board and left with a 24-0 win. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
Braden Meissner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Meissner was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Owen Tierney was incredible, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Paul Dittrich was another key player, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
West Anchorage hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bartlett struck out ten times.
West Anchorage's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6. As for Bartlett, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
