The Rampart Rams will challenge the Canon City Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Rampart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Rampart earned a 9-5 win over Vista Ridge.

The team relied heavily on Duke Pingrey, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Valdez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Canon City never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on Coronado with a sharp 16-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Canon City also got a great performance from Rocco Montoya as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Zeke Martinez was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Trey Schumaker was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Canon City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Canon City has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Rampart, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rampart has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Canon City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
