Conner Woods was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. In other batting news, Tayden Talley was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Taylor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jarrell only managed two hits.
Taylor's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-12-1. As for Jarrell, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Taylor will have a chance to go back-to-back against Jarrell: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
