The Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 50-29 margin over Rhode Island School for the Deaf. The win was just what Marie Philip needed coming off of a 57-37 defeat in their prior matchup.
Xavier DeLeon was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Novas, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Marie Philip pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Rhode Island School for the Deaf, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Marie Philip and Boston University Academy will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Rhode Island School for the Deaf will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
