Ironton has gone a perfect 9-0 against Chesapeake recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Fighting Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Ironton is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Ironton proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past West Deptford 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Fighting Tigers have posted since March 31st.

Ava Bihl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Braegan Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Compliment, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chesapeake). They put the hurt on Grace Christian with a sharp 19-9 win on Saturday. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Haylee Lafon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off 11 hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Jaeden Anderson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was KJ Collins, who went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases and three runs.
Ironton's record is now 15-3. As for Chesapeake, their record now sits at 6-12.
Chesapeake's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ironton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .487. It's a different story for Chesapeake, though, as they've only averaged .347. Will they be able to contain Ironton's hitters?
Ironton took their win against Chesapeake when the teams last played on April 11th by a conclusive 17-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fighting Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
