The Redeemer Christian Lions will square off against the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Redeemer Christian is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Meadowbrook Academy just ended the team's five-match winning streak last Monday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Lions haven't been shut out since back in August.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18, 25-16.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Seven Rivers Christian had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against Hernando Christian Academy by a score of 3-1 on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won four contests in a row.
The final score came out to 25-16, 21-25, 25-19, 25-16.
Seven Rivers Christian found their leader in freshman Kloe Bonick, who had 23 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Venegas, who hit 62.5% for five kills and 29 digs and two aces.
Seven Rivers Christian's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Redeemer Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 17-5.
Redeemer Christian came up short against Seven Rivers Christian in their previous matchup back in September, falling 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Venegas, who had 33 digs, five kills, and two aces.
