Bessemer City had to suffer through a rough 46-10 loss at the hands of Spain Park. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, Bessemer City couldn't push the score so high this time.
Spain Park's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teagan Huey, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Trinity Daniels, who scored ten points.
Bessemer City's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.3 points per game. As for Spain Park, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-13.
Bessemer City will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Anniston at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Anniston presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bessemer City in Alabama (Anniston is ranked 32nd, while Bessemer City is ranked 320th). As for Spain Park, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Montevallo at 5:45 p.m. on December 28th.
