The Saranac Redhawks pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Dansville 66-62. Saranac was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dansville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Dansville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Drew Frantz led the charge by scoring 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Frantz is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Elijah Neal, who scored 14 points.
Saranac dropped their record down to 4-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Dansville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saranac won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Laingsburg at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Laingsburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 matches -- so hopefully Saranac likes a good challenge. As for Dansville, they will head out on the road to face off against Pewamo-Westphalia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.
