It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Crenshaw Cougars can now relate to. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pilots on Friday. Crenshaw's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Banning got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Steven Perez out in front who rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Perez was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards. Another player making a difference was Jordan Villanueva, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Crenshaw's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Banning, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-6.
Crenshaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Banning will be playing at home against La Jolla Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. La Jolla Country Day has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 158 points over their last four matches.
