The Vista PEAK Prep Bison have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 29 points or more this season. They took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 72-43 victory over Centaurus. Given Vista PEAK Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Centaurus is ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vista PEAK Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than James Brown III, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Alante Monroe-elazier was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Loss or not, Centaurus got some senior leadership from Zak White who scored ten points and Matthew Vaver who scored nine points.
Vista PEAK Prep pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Centaurus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vista PEAK Prep will take on Windsor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Windsor is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.8 points per game. Centaurus will be home for the holidays to greet Steamboat Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
