The Leigh Longhorns will head out on the road to face off against the Westmont Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Leigh is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Leigh came up short against Ann Sobrato and fell 13-6.
Leigh's loss came about despite a quality game from Shayan Shariat, who rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Westmont can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 34-7 win over Willow Glen. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Westmont had established a 20 point advantage.
With Leigh's defeat and Ann Sobrato's victory, both teams now sport identical 6-3 records.
Leigh suffered a grim 42-17 defeat to Westmont when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Leigh avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
