The Boyd Anderson Cobras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by St. Thomas Aquinas on the road and fell 67-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Boyd Anderson has scored all season.
Several Cobras players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Theodore Richardson III, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Juawayne Walters, who scored eight points.
St. Thomas Aquinas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drake (DJ) Sandi, who scored 12 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarence Westbrook Jr., who scored 13 points.
Boyd Anderson now has a losing record at 3-4. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boyd Anderson will be home for the holidays to greet Blanche Ely at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Blanche Ely presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Boyd Anderson in Florida (Blanche Ely is ranked 103rd, while Boyd Anderson is ranked 209th). As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they will play host again and welcome Archbishop Molloy, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
