It was a good run, but the Chisholm Bluestreaks unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 76-54 walloping at the hands of Kelliher/Northome. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chisholm in their matchups with Kelliher/Northome: they've now lost five in a row.
Kelliher/Northome was led to victory by Kylee Binkley and Kate Thayer. Binkley dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds, while Thayer scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Thayer is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ella Thayer, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Chisholm's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5. As for Kelliher/Northome, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chisholm and Cromwell will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Kelliher/Northome, Kelliher/Northome and Fosston will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Minnesota (Fosston is ranked 71st, while Kelliher/Northome is ranked 84th).
