While Blythewood's victory against Lugoff-Elgin wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Blythewood came out on top in a nail-biter against Lugoff-Elgin on Thursday, sneaking past 6-5. The win was nothing new for the Bengals as they're now sitting on 11 straight.

Blythewood saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macon Leppert, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Another was Amare Counts, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Blythewood's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Lugoff-Elgin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blythewood will venture away from home to challenge White Knoll at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Blythewood is facing White Knoll at the right time seeing as White Knoll is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Lugoff-Elgin, they will head out on the road to square off against Ridge View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridge View has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.63 runs per game on average), something Lugoff-Elgin will no doubt try to take advantage of.
