Meanwhile, Mullen hadn't done well against Cherokee Trail recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Thursday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by  a  3-0 margin over the Cougars.
 Mullen never let Cherokee Trail on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23,  25-19.
 Eaglecrest's record now sits at 14-8. As for Mullen, their record is now 15-3.
