Basketball Recap: Maverick Monroe Key Part of a Team Effort in Dragons Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Valley, Paducah was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 58-33 margin over the Spur Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 70-34 on January 7th.

Paducah's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maverick Monroe, who posted 26 points. With that strong performance, Monroe is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. Another player making a difference was Ethan Garibaldi, who earned 16 points.

Paducah has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Spur, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Paducah will take on Guthrie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Guthrie has won three straight at home, while Paducah won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Spur, they will face off against Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Spur surely won't give up without a fight.
