Basketball Recap: Jackson Preparatory & Early College Takes a Loss

If Jackson Preparatory & Early College was feeling good fresh off their 87-32 takedown of Factoryville Christian back in December of 2024, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jackson Preparatory & Early College Falcons fell to the Marshall Academy Griffons 59-54. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Griffons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Jackson Preparatory & Early College still got an impressive performance from Donovan Myers, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine steals. The match was Myers' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Oliver, who posted 13 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Marshall Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olu'Shola Kemp out in front who had seven points along with 15 rebounds and five blocks. What's more, Kemp also racked up three steals, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Delray White was another key player, going 6 of 15 on his way to 15 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jackson Preparatory & Early College fell to 3-1. As for Marshall Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Jackson Preparatory & Early College will face off against Rudolf Steiner at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson Preparatory & Early College is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.5 points per game this season. As for Marshall Academy, they will challenge Battle Creek Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
