Volleyball Recap: South Lyon Starts Season with Win Against North Farmington

South Lyon took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the North Farmington Raiders by a score of 2-0. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

South Lyon not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept North Farmington between 18 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18.

Kate Sulkowski paced South Lyon's offense, picking up eight kills. Sulkowski got some help from Lucy Stoll and her 15 assists. Sulkowski was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

North Farmington's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

South Lyon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Divine Child on the 21st. As for North Farmington, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Walled Lake Western at 6:30 p.m. on September 2.
