Trinity Catholic hadn't done well against Providence School recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Trinity Catholic Celtics sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Providence School Stallions. For the Celtics, this counts as revenge for the 7-1 victory the Stallions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Nate Colon tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trinity Catholic's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Amodeo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Amodeo's first of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Trinity Catholic and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs over those games. As for Providence School, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Trinity Catholic is taking a road trip to face off against Forest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Providence School, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against DeLand at 6:00 p.m.
