Natalie Stinson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Mercer got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Robinson went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases Robinson has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kylee Freese, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Sullivan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Arcola made easy work of Cerro Gordo/Bement on Thursday and carried off a 9-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Purple Riders in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won nine in a row.
Kacie Sisk was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Sisk was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ema Simpson, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Kaydence Nichols was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
The win was the third in a row for Sullivan, bringing their record up to 13-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Arcola, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Sullivan couldn't quite get it done against Arcola when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-5. Will the Redskins have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
